JW Wight - Managing Member, President of SBC
JW has over 12 years experience in Health and Welfare consulting. He has an extensive industry background that includes all areas of funding, plan design and care management. He is well respected within the benefit community and is a premier broker/consultant. JW is currently on 3 Broker Advisory Boards for different insurance companies.
Prior to establishing SBC, he worked for a global consulting firm as a Vice President of Sales for Arthur J Gallagher, Kansas City. He achieved this role by reaching numerous goals and growth over just a three year period of time. JW worked with an impressive client base for over 5 years. His understanding of the industry, market dynamics, and underwriting methodologies give him the ability to offer strategic advice and forward thinking as it relates to Health and Welfare programs.
In 2000, JW moved to Arizona and continued his role in the middle and large market insurance field. JW spent time with the leading disability and life carrier, Unum, before partnering with Greg Strunk of Strunk Insurance Group as the Senior Vice President. JW received numerous sales awards while at Unum and within one year helped SIG nearly double in revenues.

JW graduated in 3 ½ years with a degree in Communications / Minor in Business Administration from Kansas State University. He began his MBA at KSU and was an Academic All-American while on a football scholarship for 5 years.
